Initial sessions

An initial session is a required first step and lasts 50 minutes. This session gives us time to introduce ourselves, talk about what has brought you to counselling, and begin to explore what you would like to work towards. It also allows you to ask any questions and decide whether counselling with me feels right for you.

An initial session offers a gentle introduction to counselling and provides a space to talk about what has brought you here. Held online or by telephone, this session allows us to get to know one another, explore what you’re hoping for from counselling, and decide together how best to move forward — all from the comfort of a place that feels safe for you.

In-person sessions are offered in a calm and confidential setting, giving you the opportunity to meet face-to-face and build a supportive therapeutic relationship. These sessions provide dedicated time and space to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace, with care, warmth, and respect for your individual experience.

Ongoing counselling sessions last 60 minutes and provide a regular, supportive space to explore whatever feels important to you. Sessions are led by you and move at your pace, allowing time for reflection, understanding, and change.

Ongoing online or telephone sessions last 60 minutes and offer regular, flexible support wherever you feel most comfortable. Sessions are ideally held weekly or fortnightly to support continuity and progress, though this can remain flexible and responsive to your individual needs. Each session provides dedicated time to explore what feels important to you, at a pace that feels right.
